Through its liberal arts, natural sciences, literature, mathematics, and fine arts curricula, this division equips students for transfer to four‑year institutions or enrichment of their broader academic base.
Business & Information Systems
The Business & Information Systems Division offers a diverse array of associate degrees and certificate programs in business, computer technology, and office systems. The division emphasizes hands‑on learning in state‑of‑the‑art computer labs, covering business management, computer applications, information systems, and related fields. Programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
Developmental Education
The Developmental Education program helps students build the skills needed to succeed in college and reach their career goals. It serves students who are not yet ready for college-level coursework or need to strengthen basic academic skills. Students enrolled in a degree, diploma, or certificate program who score below required placement levels (see the Appendix A: Placement Chart) must enroll in appropriate developmental courses before taking college-level English, math, or related courses. Meeting with an advisor before registration is essential. Some college-level courses may be taken with advisor approval. PCCUA’s integrated Developmental Education program places reading and writing courses within the English Department and math courses within the Math Department. The program is administered through the Division of Arts & Sciences.
