Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas (PCCUA) may grant credit hours toward an associate degree or technical certificate for properly validated prior learning experiences acquired on the job or in other training environments. Only students officially enrolled at PCCUA may be awarded credit by prior learning assessment. The maximum number of credit hours a student can receive in this program is fifteen (15) semester credit hours toward a certificate and thirty (30) semester credit hours toward a degree. No letter grades will be assigned on the transcript.
One or more of the following methods can be used to measure and evaluate prior learning experiences:
- Observation of demonstrated competencies
- Product evaluation – portfolio, oral interview, written exams (standard or departmental)
- Performance tests (standard or departmental)
