Students who receive Title IV financial aid and subsequently terminate enrollment must undergo an institutional review to determine whether any Student Financial Aid (SFA) funds were overpaid and whether the student is required to repay any portion of those funds. If repayment to a Title IV program is necessary, funds will be returned in the following order:

• Unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loan
• Subsidized Federal Stafford Loan
• Federal PLUS Loan
• Federal Pell Grant
• Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
• Other federal aid programs

A repayment amount allocated to a specific program may not exceed the total amount the student received from that program.

When a student withdraws from PCCUA, a separate review will be conducted to determine whether any refunds must be returned to financial aid programs and/or to the student. Refunds will be allocated in the following order:

• Unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loan
• Subsidized Federal Stafford Loan
• Federal PLUS Loan
• Federal Pell Grant
• Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
• Other federal aid programs
• Other state, private, or institutional aid sources
• The student

Examples of refund calculations are available from the accounts receivable clerk in the PCCUA Business Office.
