General Psychology, PSY 213/PSYC 11003 (PSYC 1103), provides an overview of the major topics of modern psychology. It introduces the fundamental concepts, principles, and theories that are utilized to provide a scientific analysis of human behavior and study of the adaptation of the individual to his physical and social environment.

Human Growth and Development, provides an overview of the study of maturational and environmental factors in human growth and development. It examines the typical physical, cognitive, and social-emotional changes as they occur in each period of the lifespan: Prenatal, Infancy and Toddlerhood, Early Childhood, Middle Childhood, Adolescence, Early Adulthood, Late Adulthood. Students will study major developmental theories in terms of how they explain changes that occur over the lifespan.

This course includes the study of the characteristics and treatment of abnormal behavior. Special emphasis is given to causes, symptoms, course and treatment of behavioral illnesses and diseases.
