Veterans (GI®) Benefits

Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas (PCCUA) participates in several U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) education benefit programs approved by the Arkansas State Approving Agency. Eligible veterans, service members, reservists, and dependents may receive educational assistance under the following programs: Post 9/11 GI Bill® (Chapter 33); Montgomery GI Bill® for Veterans (Chapter 30); Veterans Education Assistance Program (VEAP); Survivors and Dependents Education (Chapter 35); and Montgomery GI Bill® for Selective Reserves (Chapters 1606 and 1607).

Students must be pursuing a degree that aligns with their declared program of study. Applications and information are available online at www.va.gov/education/how-to-apply or by calling 1-888-442-4551. Additional assistance is available through the Registrar’s Office. Veterans are encouraged to apply for benefits at least two months before the start of classes.

In accordance with Title 38 U.S. Code 3679, PCCUA will not prevent enrollment, assess late fees, or deny access to resources for students using Post 9/11 GI Bill® (Chapter 33) or Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment (Chapter 31) benefits while payment is pending from the VA. To qualify, students must submit a Certificate of Eligibility (COE), a written request for certification, and any additional documentation required for enrollment certification.
